After a hugely successful project last year to create a living willow sculpture in our school field, Class ES have, this year, set about the creative process yet again, bringing our dragon to life through writing and drama.
After interviews in September the children decided to invite Nigel Crowle, a highly successful author, to help guide us through the process of writing a play script based on our dragon.
Who is this dragon? Where did he come from? What is his name? What does he do once the children have gone home?
Over the past few weeks we have been listening to stories, playing games, sharing ideas, filming and recording and gradually the story for our play has taken shape.
No spoilers here, I’m afraid but work to produce and perform this masterpiece will begin in the new year. We will be joined by our second arts specialist, Angharad, who will help us turn our paper script into a performance!
Parents, of course, will be invited to the premiere!
Nigel will be joining us for Class ES Bring-a-Parent on Tuesday 28th November to give the parents and carers a brief taste of what we have been doing.
